This dining table is cut from a slab of solid walnut whose natural edge has been kept: the table's outline follows the tree's, rather than correcting it. The checks in the top are held by inlaid butterfly keys — a traditional joint that stops the split and becomes the ornament. The base, also in solid wood, pairs splayed legs with a central stretcher assembled with exposed tenons.

Care

Dust with a soft dry cloth. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which make timber move. A colourless cabinetmaker's wax, twice a year, is enough to feed the finish. No silicone products, and no water on veneers or marquetry.
